Beach Wreath

Every once in awhile I try and get crafty. I found a picture of a beach themed wreath that you could display all year. I loved it so much I thought, I could make that. After a few modifications and sore fingers I produced the wreath below. I hung it up this weekend. Hopefully it will take the weather and few knocks from girl scouts. 

Makes me want to put some sand on my doorstep! Ha!

The past month has included some tough moments for our family. My daughter has had three back to back ear infections. My son had a stomach virus and I've been a basket case worrying about them! Sunrises with a slice of Cheese

Sunrises can be very inspirational. They get me ready to "get the day". Below is a picture of a sunrise taken from the Kemah bridge in Kemah, Texas. The Galveston County area in Texas is absolutely beautiful and a great place to call home. I'm very passionate about this area and food which I hope to combine here for your enjoyment. How could you not be in a good mood after seeing this? It's like someone turned the lights on for the whole world and said "Wake up Sunshine"! Another thing that brings sunshine into my world: cheese! One of my favorite foods is cheese. I'm sure much of America is with me on this. Bacon Wrapped Honey Smokies

Bite size treats are some of my favorite things to eat. Although I've heard that you end up eating more....On the other hand bite-size treats are usually more labor intensive. But on Saturday afternoons when you are ho-humming around the house they can be fun! Plus I have a fan club that is very nice and encouraging of my food blog hobby. I call them my Taste-Testing Committee.  Bacon Wrapped Honey Smokies Recipe 12 strips of bacon 1 package lil smokies 1/2 stick butter 1 cup brown sugar, divided Preheat oven to 375.  Cut bacon strips into 3 or 4 pieces and wrap each smokie with a piece of bacon. Place all smokies in a single layer in a baking dish.  In a small sauce pan, melt butter and 3/4 cup brown sugar. Stir until mixed well.   Spoon/ Pour mixture over smokies.  Sprinkle remaining brown sugar on top.  Bake 15- 20 minutes. Turn oven up to 400 and cook for another 5-7 minutes or until bacon is crispy.  Yield: 36-40 bites ...
